Schutt Log Homes is a small family-owned company that focuses on ways to help average people build quality Oak kits. By keeping our company small in size, we are able to keep our overhead low and pass the savings on to our customers. We create Oak lumber kits to be assembled by our customers. We ship material in common lengths, final cuts are made by the builder. Each one of our kits come with a detailed construction manual. This manual is designed to guide the average person through the process of building the kit. Our manual includes step by step instructions for, squaring, building technics, wall and floor joist construction, ridge beam and rafter placement, the process for building the roof, shiplap installation, and a lot more. We encourage our customers to purchase hardware, glass, plywood and roofing materials locally. Doing this saves extra freight expenses. Tons of deals are out there for the people who look. We do not include windows, doors, roofing, electrical, plumbing, or hardware in our kits for this reason.
